Donald Spilseth was the Assistant Chief Judge of the Minnesota Eighth Judicial District and he served in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this court in 1994 and was elected to a full term later that year. He was re-elected to six-year terms in 2000, 2006, and 2012.[1] Spilseth retired from the court on October 6, 2017.[2]

Education

Spilseth obtained a B.A. degree from Gustavus Adolphus College (1974) and a J.D. degree from the William Mitchell College of Law (1977).[1]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Spilseth worked as a private practice attorney from 1978 through 1993.[1]

Elections

2012

Spilseth ran unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[3] He received 99.35 percent of the vote.[4]
