Duncan M. Beagle
Duncan M. Beagle was a judge of the Michigan 7th Circuit Court. He left office on January 1, 2023.
Beagle ran for re-election for judge of the Michigan 7th Circuit Court. He won in the general election on November 8, 2016.
Beagle was appointed as chief judge to the court on December 19, 2019.[1]
Biography
Education
Beagle received his B.A. from Albion College in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1975.[2]
Career
Beagle began his career as a court administrator for the 67th District Court. He then worked as an assistant prosecutor for Genesee County for five years, a friend of court referee for four years, and a private practice lawyer for nine years.[3][2]
Elections
2016
Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[4] Incumbent Duncan M. Beagle, incumbent Joseph Farah, and incumbent David Newblatt were unopposed in the 7th Circuit general election (3 open seats).[5]

Beagle was re-elected, along with 2 other judges, in the general election on November 2, 2010. He received 36.49 percent of the vote.[6]
