General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 44.4 percent of the vote. She competed against Patricia J. Kerrigan.

Education
Martinez received a B.S. in political science from Illinois State University in 2001, and a J.D. from Texas Southern University in 2005.[4]
Career
Martinez is the director of legislative and legal affairs at the Harris County District Clerk’s Office. She has previously owned her own law firm.[5]
