Saylor ran for election to the 19th Circuit Court.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 38.8 percent of the vote. He competed against David A. Thompson. [1] 

Campaign platforms

According to Saylor's campaign website, he is running on five platforms.

  • Efficient administration of courts: "I firmly believe that timely resolution of cases before the court is part of the “justice” to which litigants are entitled."
  • Public service: "I see the position of Circuit Court Judge as the opportunity to make the ultimate legal contribution to my community."
  • Proper management of taxpayer funds: "In the case of the circuit court, the need to be a good steward of the funds is even more significant than private business as it is taxpayers funds that are being entrusted to the management by the court."
  • Judicial temperament: "The treatment of litigants and witnesses with respect and dignity is an important attribute for any Judge. My background, upbringing and philosophy has always been to treat individuals the way I would want to be treated in the same circumstances."

Saylor received a B.S. in accounting from Ferris State University in 1981 and a J.D. degree from the Detroit College of Law in 1984.[3]
