Grayslake Village Electricity Aggregation Question (April 2011)
A Grayslake Village Electricity Aggregation Question was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the village of Grayslake which is in Lake County.
This measure was approved
- YES 1,602 (80.3%)
- NO 393 (19.7%)[1]
This measure sought to acquire lower electricity costs for residents and businesses by grouping them and obtaining lower rates. Residents or businesses could opt out of the aggregation if they wanted.[2] If the measure is approved, the village would formulate a plan and ask for competitive bids from electricity providers in order to determine which could offer the lowest price. Though village officials note that the process is still new so it is not a streamlined process yet.[3]
