|- If we have strong public schools we have a safer, more equitable, healthier, smarter city.
We will have a stronger public school system when we focus on growth and expansion by retaining our current families, and attracting the 42% of eligible MPS families who are currently not choosing MPS by:
-Providing stability in guaranteed programming that families want -Keeping our promises and not disrupting school programs and pathways that families have chosen for their child(ren) -Retaining high-quality educators -Providing individualized/differentiated instruction through smaller class sizes -Co-creating the MPS we all deserve with those who are on the ground floor.
Join me in this optimistic vision of what is possible for MPS! - As a parent, teacher, and leader in the Minneapolis Public Schools I have been fighting so hard for over a decade to improve MPS. We need those at the top to be fighting just as hard as those of us on the ground floor for a public schools system that gives all students the education they deserve. Based on my experiences, expertise, and relationships, I am the most qualified candidate running for school board in the Minneapolis Public Schools, and look forward to continuing my life of serving our students in this new capacity once elected.
- MPS is at a turning point and many would say we are in a crisis. During a crisis we can’t start from scratch, we need someone who is experienced, qualified, and already has the relationships necessary to hit the ground running once elected. I continue to hear that we need to “build bridges” right now in MPS. As someone who has been the ambassador between the ground floor and the top of this district for years, I can tell you that the bridge is already built and I am that bridge.
