Two Hamilton & Holland School District Non Residential Property Tax Renewal measures were on the May 8, 2012 ballot in the Hamilton and Holland school district area which is in Allegan and Ottawa Counties.
Both measures were approved[1]
Both measures sought to renew the current non residential levy which is set at a rate of $18 per $1,000 of assessed value, Hamilton's would be for just one year and Holland's would be for a period of three years, both would to continue to help pay for operational costs of the school districts.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| Hamilton Measure: Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence, qualified agricultural property and other property exempted by law, in Hamilton Community Schools, Allegan County, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for the year 2012 to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2012 is approximately $2,910,000 (this is a renewal of millage which expired with the 2011 tax levy)?[3] |
