Jeff Hersh is the superintendent of Haysville Unified School District 261. Hersh was appointed superintendent on January 29, 2021, and started serving on July 1, 2021. Hersh's previous career experience includes working as a assistant superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and as a teacher in the Goddard Unified School District.[1]

Board members are elected on a staggered basis in November of odd-numbered years.

Three seats on the board are up for general election on November 4, 2025. A primary was scheduled for August 5, 2025, but was canceled when not enough candidates filed to trigger a primary. The filing deadline for this election was June 2, 2025.
