South Dakota: The South Dakota Seventh Judicial Circuit is welcoming its latest appointee, former assistant attorney general Heidi Linngren as a Magistrate Judge. Linngren is replacing former Judge Mark F. Marshall who stepped down after his second DUI conviction in July. Linngren joins recent appointees Robert A. Mandel and Craig A. Pfeifle on a Circuit Court that has been rife with controversy this year. The appointment was announced by Presiding Judge Jeff W. Davis (South Dakota) who said of Linngren: "I've known and followed Heidi through most of her legal career. She's competent and has a great work ethic. We're lucky to have her join us." Linngren's last day at the attorney general's office will be November 23, and she will report to the Magisterial District on the 28th.[1]
