“Make INDY Greater”

PRIORITIES
Economic Development: Drive economic growth by encouraging and supporting responsible new development and job creation. Focus on advocating for policies such as the “Work Here, Pay Here” Income Tax Proposal to shift the current income tax structure that drains resources that could be allotted to maintaining our city’s curb appeal.

Public Safety – INDY’s Public Safety is in high demand and is on the rise… Supporting Indy’s entire structure of First Responders is critical to improving public safety and the quality of life for all Marion County. We must provide the best training facilities, equipment, and incentives for professionals within public safety to choose Indianapolis as their home. We must increase our ability to serve the community by growing IMPD’s patrol force and raise the bar of excellence to improve the quality of all fire departments. Not only is setting a higher expectation right, mandating this level of expectation will positively impact public safety, and it will preserve the future financial security of our families, friends, schools, neighborhoods, and communities.

Curb Appeal - We must enhance Indy's connectivity to local amenities for all residents. This will be accomplished by accessing available resources through federal, state and local initiatives designed to provide increased funding for road renovations, mass transit, and empowering inner-city neighborhood revitalization to secure safe and affordable housing. By tapping into these resources, we can make INDY the nation’s best place to live, work and raise a family.
ENGAGE – ENHANCE – ENRICH

Our MISSION:
Mobilize our community to raise awareness and foster support to implement policies that will improve standard of living for every District 22 resident.

Our VISION:
District 22 Residents have access to aggressive and innovative community solutions that positively impact their lives.

Families

     -	Engage families in West Indy to be part of the solution
- Enhance services and opportunities for families in West Indy
- Enrich the lives of all families in West Indy

Schools

     -	Engage with all stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, and administrators
- Enhance the role schools play in growing our community
- Enrich educational opportunities for our next generation

Neighborhoods

     -	Engage with residents where they spend their lives
- Enhance the relationships between local leaders and the city
- Enrich the value of our city beyond just the value of homes

Community

     -	Engage with our first responders who work every day to improve lives
- Enhance our ability to come together and solve problems
- Enrich the values of our city by connecting them with the values of our community"
Important characteristics of any good leader would be well designed with humility and humbleness in mind and driven with:

Honesty / Openness – Ownership and acceptance of me, builds credibility and trust, which are the foundation to evoke confidence and respect from those around me. It reveals who I really am and discloses everything upfront.

Compassion – Understanding the needs of others and wanting to do something to alleviate that suffering, converts knowledge to wisdom to determine the course of action that would be of greatest benefit to all those involved.
Integrity - Adherence to moral and ethical principles is the soundness of moral character. This is a vital characteristic to never veers from inner values, even when it might benefit me to do so.

Confidence – I must maintain faith as well as a strong belief in my ability to lead and act in a right, proper, and effective manner to inspire others; drawing on a level of trust which sparks the motivation to get others on board and get the job done.

Flexibility / Fairness - understanding the give-and-take aspects of politics, and the ability to find the common ground.
The primary quality I possess that will make for a good match for position as a City-County Councilor is to take my new role as District 22 City-County Councilor seriously, but not myself when effectively keeping the normal "ups and downs" and "wins and losses" in perspective.
The core responsibilities of good leadership is the ability to fully appreciate the need to establish a good working relationship with your fellow councilpersons and work well with the city mayor in order to maximize:
 - Organizational performance
- Organizational reputation
- Value to the community
- Personal reputation
- Community pride and confidence
When I have completed my served time as a City-County Councilor, the legacy I want to leave behind is one of "Leaders and Legends," the one person that took UNIGOV to the next level of positive growth who did "Make INDY Greater!"
My first job was at 14, I worked for a Noble Romans franchise location and stayed there all through high school prior to leaving for the United States Marine Corps to selflessly service and protect this amazing country.
The biggest struggle in my life i faced was the untimely death of my 16-month old son back in 2000... I grew from that tragic event and did walk away with a positive outlook for the future.
The elected city council sets policy direction as the direct representatives of the community with the city mayor providing the professional expertise to manage the organization and carry out the council's direction. Policy direction is provided in a variety of ways, including through local laws or ordinances, planning land use policies (general plan and zoning), financial policies, the annual budget, and capital improvement plan, the adoption of city council policies and through numerous other program directives.
City-County Council like most Local government plays an extremely crucial role in the transformation of living standards of people. Local government serves an important to the fundamental building block of a larger government as this tends to be physically closer to the people in need of services: .
-The administrative purpose of supplying goods and services
-To represent and involve citizens in determining specific local public needs
-How local needs can be met
I do not believe that it is necessary but is beneficial for holders of this office to have some type of managerial experience before going in to this position; previous government or politics is not a must... knowledge of local government should be taken into consideration.

OUR FRIENDS OF WEST INDY DESERVE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE

  • ENGAGE
  • ENHANCE
  • ENRICH

Greater Strength through Unity:

West Indy is rich in both diversity and opportunity. I’m running for CITY-COUNTY COUNCIL because, lately, I agree with you... Make INDY Greater!

I provide new bolder solutions that I will present throughout this entire municipal campaign... that I personally promise you!

As your DISTRICT 22 Councilor, I will work in your best interest to support Jim Merritt as your future Mayor; to replace the underfunded programs of today and the unimaginative thinking of the current administration that have unfortunately led to underwhelming results in our city without accountability.

I will support the well outlined plans of the new majority administration under Jim Merritt to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in new services and programs to help our families, friends, schools, neighborhoods and communities that rethink the urban challenges of this city and drive economic development.

I will detail exactly how WE are going to improve that increased value of Curb Appeal and to drive value into your greatest investment of family, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I will accomplish all this and much more through the passage of city ordinances and laws developed to be proficient of restructuring existing government assets, proper utilization of a more effective labor force, and redirecting useless wasted funding of unauthorized spending... putting to work your tax dollars more efficiently!

STAY TUNED DURING THE COURSE OF OUR CAMPAIGN AND JOIN ME TO MAKE THIS YOUR CAMPAIGN FOR CHANGE AS WE WORK TOGETHER ON THESE NEW BOLD SOLUTIONS FOR INDIANAPOLIS!

Is there anything you would like to add?

Make INDY Greater[2]
