Joe Davis was a member of the Milwaukee Common Council in Wisconsin, representing District 2. He was elected to the council in 2004.[1] He ran for mayor of Milwaukee in 2016 and was defeated.

Davis attended Custer High School. He graduated from Michigan State University/United Association Instructor Program and the State of Wisconsin Building Trades Apprenticeship Program. He is a certified international instructor of the United Association and has been a member of the Steamfitters Local 601 and the Milwaukee Joint Apprenticeship Committee of the Pipefitting Industry.[1]

The city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, held elections for mayor and city council on April 5, 2016. A primary election took place on February 16, 2016. All 15 city council seats were up for election. Incumbent Tom Barrett and Robert G. Donovan defeated Joe Davis, Sr. and James Methu in the Mayor of Milwaukee primary election.[3]
