Two of the five seats on the Kern High School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In his bid for re-election to Trustee Area 2, incumbent Jeff Flores defeated challenger Librado Vasquez. Incumbent Chad Vegas did not file to run for re-election to his Trustee Area 3 seat, leaving it open for a newcomer. Jennifer Bloomquist and Joey O’Connell ran for the seat, and O’Connell won.[1][2]
