Email to constituent
On March 30, 2015, Reddit user Thad-Jarvis, posted a photo of an email that she sent to Bradford and his reply to it. In the email, the user asked Bradford and other lawmakers to remove the amendment to Senate Bill 117, which would make it difficult for companies like Uber to operate in Kansas. The user later explained that her husband was blind and relied on Uber to get around.[16] In response to the email, Bradford replied, "I received your email. I don’t need it, so I am sending it back to you."[16] The user replied to Bradford with the following, "Your attitude as a representative is abhorrent. Congratulations for adding to the embarrassment that is the Kansas State Government. Rest assured your flippant response will be shared with others."[16] Bradford said that he had a good reason to send the email. He said that because of the amendment to Senate Bill 117, state capital servers were being flooded by Uber-generated emails.[16] Bradford said that he reads all constituent emails and responds to all of them, but that these emails were mass-generated emails from Uber. Bradford said that he should have "...probably have said, 'Thank you, glad to have received your email. Thank you very much.'"[17]
