John T. Elsner
John T. Elsner was a resident circuit judge of the Eighteenth Circuit Court in Illinois.[1] He was elected circuit judge in 2000 and was retained to the court in 2014.[2][3] His current term was set to expire in 2020, however, Elsner retired before the end of his term on December 1, 2014.[4]
Elsner served as the district's resident circuit judge from December 5, 2011, until his retirement in December 2014. He was unanimously elected by his fellow circuit judges to succeed Stephen J. Culliton.[2]

Elsner was retained to the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court with 79.4 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3]

The Illinois State Bar Association and participating attorneys rated John T. Elsner as Recommended for retention in a 2014 poll.[5]

Elsner earned his J.D. from the Lewis University College of Law.[2]
