Campaign themes

2016

LaCroix's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Make Rhode Island a place to work and live again!

  • Rhode Island is the birthplace to the Industrial Revolution! Rhode Islanders are proud, hard-working individuals. Let’s make our state an attractive and sensible destination for small businesses and new graduates, where they will be able to flourish in the local economy free from increased regulatory constraints that only chokes growth. I will join the fight to break the cycle of fiscal irresponsibility that slows the growth of small business and costs you, the taxpayer, more and more with no end in sight. I will be instrumental in the decision making process that will bring significant and lasting increase to local jobs.

Tax Relief

  • We will break the cycle of unnecessary increases in taxes and fees because it is your hard earned money, let’s keep it in your pocket where it belongs.

Stand against fiscal irresponsibility!

  • Let’s break the cycle of wasteful spending and abuse to the entitlement system. Rhode Island continues to fall deeper into debt due to a left driven agenda, enough is enough.
  • I will oppose any state-wide property taxes.
  • I will oppose any stance that threatens to place taxes on social security benefits.
  • I will be a leading voice in the effort to impose term limits of our legislators to make it difficult for special interest groups to control our state.
  • I will ALWAYS oppose any tolls proposed, not just conveniently during elections as a popularity stunt to sway voter opinion.
  • The power to toll Rhode Island should not be left to legislators that have proven themselves incapable of keeping Rhode Islander’s interests first. The power should be in the hands of the people, let the people decide…not the deep pockets of special interests groups. I will join the fight to give you the power to keep Rhode Island’s roadways free from tolls.[1]
