Kathy Ryan
Kathy Ryan ran for election to the Collier County Public Schools school board to represent District 3 in Florida. Ryan lost in the primary on August 28, 2018.
Ryan was a candidate for the District 3 seat on the Collier County School Board in Florida. She faced Luis Bernal, Erika B. Donalds and JB Holmes in the general election on August 26, 2014. Since neither she nor Donalds received 50 percent plus one of the vote, she challenged her in a runoff election on November 4, 2014. Donalds defeated Ryan in the runoff. Ryan also ran unsuccessfully for the board in 2006 and 2010.
Biography
Ryan has both her bachelor's and master's degree from Michigan State University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Florida Atlantic University. She worked as a teacher, counselor and administrator for 37 years.[1]

2014
The August 26, 2014, general election in Collier County featured three seats up for election. Roy Terry III was the only incumbent to seek re-election in 2014, facing a challenge from Thomas Andler in District 5. Kathleen Greenawalt, Kelly Mason and Jacob Winge were running to replace Pat Carroll, who did not file for re-election in District 1. Luis Bernal, Erika B. Donalds, JB Holmes and Kathy Ryan were seeking election to the District 3 seat held by Barbara Berry.
The general election determines if candidates for each seat could garner a majority of the vote total. If no candidate received 50 percent plus one of the general election votes in a particular district, the top two vote recipients advanced to the runoff election on November 4, 2014.

As of October 27, 2014, Ryan reported $9,348.19 in monetary contributions, $250.00 in-kind contributions and $5,844.43 in expenditures to the Collier County Supervisor of Elections, which left her campaign with $3,503.76 on hand.[2]
