Kenneth M. Laff was a judge of the Colorado 2nd Judicial District. He left office on July 3, 2021.

Laff ran for re-election for judge of the Colorado 2nd Judicial District. He won in the retention election on November 6, 2018.

He was appointed to the court in 2008.[1]

Education

Laff received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College in 1974 and his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1977.[2]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Laff was a Senior Deputy District Attorney with the Denver District Attorney's Office. He also practiced with three different law firms.[2]

Judicial performance evaluation

The Second Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[4]


Judge Laff was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [2]
