Kerri M. Foley was a judge for the Galveston County Court at Law No. 3. She was appointed in June 2013. The Galveston County Commissioner's Court appointed her presiding judge in September of that year, a title she retained until she left the bench in 2014.[1][2][3]

Education

Foley received her J.D. in 1993.[3]

Career

Before her appointment as judge, Galveston County Court at Law No. 3, the Galveston County Juvenile Board appointed Foley as the juvenile referee in 2011. At the time of that appointment, she was the presiding judge of the League City Municipal Court, a position she was appointed to in 2003 and continued for more than 10 years. Foley also spent more than 10 years operating a private practice in Friendswood, Texas. After being admitted to the bar in 1993, Foley began her legal career as an assistant to the general counsel at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and was appointed as an assistant district attorney shortly after that. She left the district attorney's office in 2000.[3]

Foley ran for election to the Galveston County Court at Law.
Primary: She was defeated in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 21.8 percent of the vote. She competed against Jack Ewing, Donnie Quintanilla and Byron Fulk. [1][4][2]
