|After graduating high school in central MN, I spent 20 years in IT, working my way from Helpdesk support to becoming a solution architect, where I helped design big data solutions for large companies. This experience taught me the value of problem-solving, innovation, and efficiency—skills I now bring to my role as county commissioner.
Since being elected in 2020, I’ve worked hard to ensure that Hennepin County is a place where everyone has access to the support they need. Whether it’s advocating for responsible fiscal policies, investing in infrastructure, or finding innovative ways to address public safety and environmental sustainability, I am committed to ensuring our community can thrive.
As a father of four I am deeply invested in making smart decisions for the future of our families. My focus is on creating a county where we can balance growth with preserving the quality of life that makes our district special. Working collaboratively with local governments and community leaders, I’m dedicated to finding long-term solutions that benefit everyone in Hennepin County.- Affordable housing is critical in Hennepin County, especially in District 7, where a mix of suburban and rural communities face rising housing costs. As our population grows, the need for housing that is accessible to families, young professionals, and seniors becomes even more urgent. Affordable housing ensures that our workforce can live close to where they work, reducing commutes, traffic congestion, and environmental impact. It also provides stability for families, allowing them to invest in their futures and contribute to the local economy. In District 7, affordable housing helps preserve the character of our communities while ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live and thrive.
- Simplifying services for seniors in Hennepin County is essential to ensure they can access the support they need without unnecessary hurdles. By offering online services for families to assist with applications and navigation, along with staff available when needed, we can make these services more accessible. Reducing paperwork and improving communication will help seniors and their families focus on well-being instead of dealing with complex systems. Simplifying these services ensures that seniors receive timely, effective support, allowing them to live comfortably and independently without the stress of bureaucracy.
- Hennepin County supports businesses and expands job opportunities through targeted job training and broadband access. The Pathways program provides job training for county-involved individuals, including those facing barriers like homelessness or justice system involvement, helping them enter high-demand fields. Expanding broadband and digital skills training is crucial for bridging the digital divide, giving residents access to more job opportunities and remote work. This is especially important in District 7, where reliable internet can connect residents to career and business resources, strengthening the local economy.

From public safety, I have the Hennepin Sheriff Deputies Association and the Hennepin County Association of Paramedics and EMT and the MN Nurses Association.
The Minneapolis Building Trades along with several of their member organizations have endorsed me from the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters, IBEW Local 292, Operating Engineers Local 49, and others.
The workers of Hennepin County have also endorsed my campaign through AFSCME Council 5.

|Besides my community service work, I have twenty years of Information Technology experience. I currently work as a Solution Architect, designing and implementing creative solutions to complex problems. To be a successful Solution Architect, my job requires that I listen carefully to my customers' requirements, create a preliminary design, and then receive customer feedback on my efforts. Their input factors heavily into building the polished software solution that satisfies my customers' needs.
The county board faces many issues I feel deeply about, including investments in transportation, expanded access to mental health services and protecting our green spaces. As Hennepin County Commissioner, I will leverage both my professional experience as a Solution Architect and my volunteer experience working with my church and school to develop solid, innovative solutions for the county's issues.- We need leadership who will listen to the growing and diverse needs of our communty.
- To be effective, a leader needs to collaborate with other organizations and leaders.
- Service is the foundation that leadership is built on. We need leaders who are invested in serving the community above their own ambitions.
Mental Health care has long been stigmatized in our society and, therefore, underutilized. Any teacher, manager, student, or co-worker can tell you how the mental health of one person affects the whole group. By partnering with places like schools, senior living facilities, and unions, I would work toward imbedding mental health professionals in places they can be easily accessed. I believe that investing in solving issues before they become critical problems is a better use of limited resources than reactionary politics.
