Three of the seven seats on the Tomball Independent School District school board were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. Matt Schiel defeated fellow newcomers Lee McLeod and Joseph Ferguson for the open District 5 seat. District 6 and District 7 incumbents Samuel Gregson and Lisa Nichols won re-election without opposition to their respective seats.[1]
