Campaign themes

Goodloe answered the following questions in a July 2014 interview with the Columbia Daily Herald:

How would you characterize the current relationship between school board and county commission? What would you do to maintain or change it?

Both parties are moving in a positive direction. We need to keep an open dialogue and encourage each other to stay abreast of issues facing the other body.

What do you believe is he most pressing issue facing the school board and how would you address it?
Presently, our most pressing issue is the maintenance of our school buildings. The school system has a prioritized list of needs and is funding the most needed.

How effective do you believe Eddie Hickman has been as the schools director? Explain.
Director Hickman has been effective. We still encourage self-improvement. Director Hickman has always worked within guidelines of his contract and been an advocate for Maury County Schools. He has made tough decisions. Sometimes those decisions have been questioned. I have never seen him fail to take time to respond to any question.[2]
