Lorna E. Propes (Democratic Party) was a judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She left office on March 1, 2023.

Propes ran for re-election for judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She won in the retention election on November 6, 2018.

She was first elected to this position on November 6, 2012, to replace Aurelia Marie Pucinski.

Education

Propes received her B.S. degree (Education) from Indiana University in 1966, her M.A. degree (Secondary school counseling) from Columbia University Teachers' College in 1970 and her J.D. degree from the Loyola University School of Law in 1975.[1]

Career

Propes worked as a private practice attorney prior to her judicial appointment to the Cook County 7th Subcircuit in 2010. She was elected to the Cook Circuit Court in 2012.[2]

Propes was elected to the Cook Circuit Court without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. She won the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 52.62% of the vote.[3][4]
