Matt never planned on running for office. In his roles as an educator and advocate, he sees firsthand how poverty and socioeconomic stressors impact his students and their ability to learn each day. That's why he's working double-time as a teacher and coach, and continuing his call to public service by running for office.
- Matt sees how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted his students' families in tangible ways. It is his utmost priority to pursue common-sense, nonpartisan legislation, ultimately allowing for the safest possible reopening of our communities and our economy.
- As a legislator, Matt will work across the political aisle to serve the best interests of all Kansans. By working to expand Medicaid with common-sense legislation, he will assist in achieving one of the most critical actions for Kansas' public health and safety.
- Throughout Matt's professional career, he has worked to advocate on behalf of all of his students, and has taught them to do the same. At the State House, Matt will work to ensure that we adequately fund public education and serve the best interests of all our Kansas families.
