The Irvine City Master Plan is a vision for the development of parks, open space, streets, schools, commercial, industrial & residential. Over the decades, the city appears to have strayed from the balance of growth and quality of life. The city’s economic and population growth contributed to the increased traffic, crime, and deteriorated the quality of resident experience. The city’s growth should support the needs of the changing demographics, be within our transportation infrastructure, policing capability, and schools. Development should not reduce our business/industry centers and resident experience for profit.

Expose the budget shortfall to the residents of Irvine. If you read the City Manager's budget message, they blame COVID-19. I believe it was the current leadership's response to the COVID-19 theater that resulted in the city budget shortfall. He clearly identifies that expenditure growth was projected to outpace revenue growth. Which simply means they spent more than they earned. The shortfall is expected to range from $10.5 million to $14 million over the next five-year period. We need to stop reckless spending until revenue improves. Businesses and Industry are the base of the revenue source for the city. I will work to reopen business and industry sectors so they can help improve revenue.

Although Irvine has been ranked as the #1 safest cities by the FBI for over 18 years, public safety will always be priority. Crime can never be eliminated in any city, but the perception of a strong Police force will always deter vulture criminals. I will support all our police and emergency teams so they can provide adequate response times to members of the community during their greatest time of need.

As Irvine grows, Tammy remains committed to keeping Irvine the safest city in the country. As a forward-thinking leader, she has enhanced public safety by integrating advanced technologies into our strategy. As your mayor, she will continue to prioritize innovative solutions to keep our neighborhoods safe.

As the founder of Irvine Tech Week, Tammy is dedicated to boosting Irvine’s economic future by fostering business relations that enhance our job market, expand our tax base, and ensure Irvine leads in innovation and economic development.

HOUSING ACCESSIBILITY: Tammy will continue to prioritize creative solutions in addressing Irvine's housing needs through thoughtful and balanced development. Her top priority is to create workforce housing programs that benefit working professionals like teachers, nurses, police officers, and firefighters who add to the fabric of our community, but are priced out of the existing housing market.

rvine has had a prevalent issue of road safety with the increasing presence of electric bikes in this city, mostly from adolescent riders. As mayor, instead of tightening restrictions that are difficult to enforce and creating mandatory safety presentations that students do not pay attention to, I plan on creating incentivizing reward policies for students if they follow safety rules. I also plan on partnering with leaders in the E-bike industry to create fun and interactive E-bike safety classes that teach and provide vital visual demonstrations of things like E-bike maneuvering tactics. This approach has been utilized in other cities and has already been proven to work more effectively. As mayor, I hope to implement this system in Irvine.

During my time with seniors since then, many seniors have thanked me not for teaching the classes but just for caring. Many have told me that the classes were a highlight of their day, as a lot of seniors do not have support or care at home, and the city has also done very little to address the concerns of seniors. As Mayor, I hope to fix this and provide a more efficient online portal and additional senior care resources, making it more accessible for seniors to address their concerns to city governance and making their lives easier as they are the backbone of this very city.

Despite the motto “We are Irvine,” which implies a sense of community and unity with one another, I do not feel like the motto was a proper reflection of our city. A majority of the residents I have talked to have concurred with the fact that there is not the same form of city pride that we see in neighboring cities. There are not many attractions in Irvine, meaning that it is difficult to establish an identity. I have been to city council meetings with relatively low attendance and little time for the people to address their concerns. As Mayor, I hope to fix these issues and allow for more community involvement in the city by creating more recreational facilities but also making an attempt to address all issues of Irvine Residents.

Education. All public schools should focus on Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Throw in the love of country and respect for all. Teachers should not be allowed to tell the student what to think but should show them how to think. Critical thinking skills will carry a student farther than any social engineering concepts. Parents have the right to know how and what is being taught to their children in school.

Tammy is a forward-thinking leader tackling Irvine's housing challenges. She prioritizes proactive, creative solutions to keep Irvine at the forefront of urban planning. She is focused on ensuring housing for all income levels, especially workforce housing for mid-salary professionals like teachers, nurses, police officers, and firefighters who are vital to our community but often priced out. As a Councilmember, Tammy led efforts to redevelop underperforming retail centers and focus on infill projects near job centers and transit, avoiding changes to established residential areas. Her leadership balances growth with preservation, providing housing solutions that benefit all residents while maintaining Irvine's high quality of life.

I am passionate about the fiscal policies of the city. As mayor, I hope to bring economic development to the city. I plan to increase the number of small businesses in the city by streamlining the complicated application process to apply and maintain a business. This will make it easier for aspiring entrepreneurs to start their own local businesses, creating economic prosperity and development in this city. Furthermore, as mayor, I also hope to supply additional resources for the understaffed Irvine Police Department. IPD has done an excellent job to enforce safety in our community, and I intend to make the job of our law enforcement officers easier by supplying additional funds to be used for staffing and additional training.

Self-confidence. Without self-confidence you cannot expect others to respect you and your leadership skills.

Honesty and integrity. These two characteristics are the foundation of respect. Respect for others and yourself.

A commitment to public service. It is a true honor to serve without personal gain.

Project Management skills. No effort, public or private, can be truly successful without proper planning. Hoping things will work out is not a plan.

But most importantly are good communication skills. Everyone needs to understand their role or what is expected of them if success is the goal.

A deep commitment to public service is essential for any elected official, reflecting a genuine dedication to improving the lives of others and prioritizing the common good over personal interests. For me, this commitment is deeply personal—rooted in my own experiences of witnessing how effective leadership can transform communities and uplift those who are often overlooked. This commitment requires a willingness to make sacrifices, work diligently, and advocate for all constituents, with particular attention to the most vulnerable members of the community, just as I have seen done by those leaders who inspired me to enter public service.

Empathy is equally important, enabling elected officials to truly understand and connect with the diverse experiences and needs of their constituents. By listening actively and considering different perspectives, I strive to make decisions that reflect the values and well-being of the entire community, drawing on the belief that every voice matters and deserves to be heard. Integrity serves as the cornerstone of effective public service. Elected officials must consistently demonstrate honesty, fairness, transparency, and ethical behavior in all their decisions and actions, earning and maintaining the public's trust. I hold myself to this standard, knowing that trust is built over time through actions that reflect these principles. Courage is also vital, especially when making difficult decisions that may be unpopular but are in the best interest of the community. I understand that leadership sometimes requires standing by one’s principles, even when it’s challenging, and I am committed to advocating for what is right, no matter the opposition.

Together, these characteristics—commitment to public service, empathy, integrity, and courage—are not just abstract ideals but the guiding principles that have shaped my journey in public service. They are essential for leading effectively, maintaining public trust, and making decisions

I believe integrity, dedication, and compassion are the three most important principles for an elected official. I was raised to be truthful with whatever I do, especially for a public official; there should be no underhanded agenda or self-serving goal as it is public service. Next, I believe dedication to your constituents is vital, as it takes effort and genuine care to effectively run a city. Despite the role of mayor being part-time, I intend to treat the job as one that is full-time, as I want to give everything to better our home, even if it is only by a fraction. Lastly, I believe compassion is also vital to public service. As it is the job of a public servant to listen to every issue that every resident may have with the community, no matter how big or small.

Professionally, I’ve developed project management, implementation, and communication skills from a 45-year career working for Fluor Corporation. In both my public service and professional roles, I have a proven track record of solving problems and project execution with care and dedication. I currently hold two Board Member positions where I have experience with meeting protocols and rules of etiquette. I enjoy speaking dynamically and convincing others to my point of view.

I believe genuine care for the community is vital to making a successful office holder, which I possess through my involvement with community service organizations like Seniors Fight Back. My dedication to the community and its constituents can also be seen through my candidacy. I have been knocking on the doors of Irvine residents every weekend, to hear the concerns of every resident regardless of how large or small the issue is. I care for my community and my potential constituents, and it is vital for residents to receive proper care and attention from its city governance and leaders.

I also possess excellent leadership and financial skills which have been sharpened by my two decades of experience in entrepreneurship. I have expanded from one small local business into four successful businesses which not only took efficient leadership but an expertise in finances which are skills I intend to carry over during my administration.
Lastly, the dedication and grit that I have for something when I set my mind to is a valuable quality for a mayor. As seen through my fighting career and my entrepreneurial journey, my dedication to a task will make me an effective Mayor as I am willing to spend every second of my time to maximize the impact of my administration in bettering our community.

The core responsibilities of an elected official are deeply rooted in serving the community with integrity, courage, vision, and accountability—values that have guided me throughout my career. Representing the diverse interests of constituents means actively listening, engaging with the community, and ensuring that every voice, especially those from marginalized groups, is heard. For me, effective representation isn't just about being present; it's about truly advocating for the community's needs at all levels of government, ensuring that policies reflect the collective will of my residents.

Community engagement is something I prioritize because I believe a responsive government is one that stays connected to its people. Maintaining regular communication, keeping the public informed, and being a strong voice in policy discussions aren't just responsibilities; they are how I build trust and ensure transparency in everything I do.

Setting a clear vision for the community is another responsibility I take to heart. I strive to anticipate challenges and seize opportunities that promote long-term prosperity.

Managing public funds responsibly is something I’m particularly committed to, ensuring that every dollar is used transparently and efficiently to benefit the community. Financial oversight, to me, is not just a duty but a cornerstone of maintaining the public's trust.

Accountability and transparency are principles I hold dear. Being open about decisions and responsive to public feedback isn't just important—it’s how I stay connected to those I serve. Ensuring the safety and welfare of the community, from supporting law enforcement and emergency services to promoting public health, is a fundamental part of my role. By fulfilling these responsibilities, I aim to lead effectively and foster a safe, prosperous, and inclusive environment for everyone in our community.

The legacy I would like to leave is one of a community that thrives on inclusivity, sustainability, and shared prosperity. I want to be remembered as a leader who put people first, who listened to the needs of all residents, and who made decisions that improved the quality of life for everyone in our city.

A significant part of that legacy would be the successful development of the Great Park into a world-class destination that serves as a cornerstone of our community. I envision the Great Park featuring a stunning botanical garden, a state-of-the-art amphitheater, a place where nature, culture, and recreation come together to enrich the lives of our residents and attract visitors from all over. Building out these features would not only provide incredible amenities but also symbolize our commitment to preserving green spaces and enhancing the cultural vibrancy of our city.

I also hope my legacy includes a city where economic growth and environmental stewardship go hand in hand, where we’ve successfully balanced development with the preservation of our natural spaces, and where we’ve made strides toward achieving a sustainable future. I want to leave behind a community that is more resilient, one that has the infrastructure, resources, and social fabric to withstand future challenges.

Most importantly, I want to be remembered for fostering a sense of unity and trust in our city—where government is transparent, accountable, and truly reflective of the people it serves. I hope to have strengthened the bonds between our diverse communities, creating a city where everyone feels valued, safe, and empowered to contribute.

If I can leave behind a city that is not only more prosperous and equitable but also more compassionate, connected, and enriched by the development of the Great Park, I will consider my work as mayor a success. That is the legacy I aspire to build.

A mayor must be a problem-solver, addressing the city's immediate challenges—whether they relate to infrastructure, public safety, housing, or environmental sustainability—while also planning for long-term growth and prosperity. For me, this is deeply personal because I’ve seen firsthand how these issues impact our community and how important it is to find solutions that reflect our shared values. This requires not only strategic thinking but also a deep understanding of the community’s unique identity, strengths, and aspirations, something I’ve gained through years of living and working closely with the people I serve.

Being a mayor means embodying the role of a dedicated servant-leader who is deeply connected to the community and committed to its well-being. I believe that to lead effectively, a mayor must set a clear vision and direction for the future, ensuring that all residents feel heard, valued, and represented. This role involves making tough decisions that balance the needs of various stakeholders while always prioritizing the common good—a principle I hold close in every decision I make.

Ultimately, being a mayor is about serving the people—working tirelessly to improve their quality of life, protect their rights, and create opportunities for everyone to thrive. This commitment drives me every day, knowing that each decision I make as mayor has the potential to shape the future of our community for the better.

Being the leader of a city means that I would be the face of local governance and I would lead my colleagues on city council. It would also be to establish a leading vision or direction that the city governance will work hard to achieve. I believe it is vital to have someone that has their constituents at the forefront of their priorities as the Mayor will shape the future of our home. Furthermore, I hope to facilitate positive relations between my colleagues to make sure all perspectives are heard. I also intend to conduct city council meetings as quickly and efficiently as possible to create more time for residents to address their issues.

The mayor’s top priority should be to provide visionary leadership while fostering collaboration among the council, city manager, and the community. For me, this means setting a clear strategic direction for the city, ensuring that long-term goals align with the community's needs and values—a responsibility I take to heart because I’m deeply invested in our city’s future.

As mayor, I see myself as the bridge between the city government and the public, facilitating open communication, transparency, and engagement to build trust and ensure that everyone feels actively involved in the decision-making process. This connection is personal to me because I’ve always believed that a city thrives when its residents are heard and valued.

In addition to guiding the city’s vision, the mayor must also prioritize building consensus within the council, guiding discussions, and mediating differing viewpoints to achieve balanced and thoughtful decisions. I know that our strength as a community comes from our ability to work together, even when we don’t always agree.

Moreover, a mayor should be responsible for bringing resources and economic development into the city. This includes actively seeking funding opportunities, working with legislative partners, and attracting businesses that will create jobs and boost the local economy. For me, this isn’t just about growth—it's about ensuring that our city remains vibrant, sustainable, and full of opportunities for all its residents.

Ultimately, being a mayor is about serving the community with dedication and a commitment to making our city the best it can be. My approach is rooted in a deep love for our community and a determination to ensure that every decision I make contributes to a brighter, more prosperous future for all.

I believe the mayor’s top priority is to facilitate a tight relationship between city council members and the city manager. This could mean ensuring friendly and effective discourse from opposing viewpoints or providing a leading vision that the city council and city staff would be working towards. For example, I hope to pass local city policies that will attract potential businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs, which will create economic growth in our city. Which I intend to work with city staff and my colleagues on city council to push towards.

Furthermore, I believe it is also the mayor’s job to facilitate relationships with the state government as it is vital to ensure that the city receives an adequate amount of funding from the state and petition legislation when city rights are encroached.

Lastly, I believe it is also the job of the mayor to stay true to the fundamentals that city governance was built to be: a government built for the people. I believe it will be the job of the mayor to establish a strong relationship with its constituents, which can be achieved by ensuring that party politics are left to the side and ensuring that the voices of local residents are heard and addressed.

What I love most about Irvine is the way it seamlessly combines safety, innovation, community, and diversity, making it an exceptional place to live and thrive. Irvine is consistently recognized as the safest city of our size in the United States, a testament to our strong commitment to public safety and the collaborative spirit of our residents, law enforcement, and city leadership. This sense of security allows us to fully enjoy the rich array of experiences our city has to offer.

Irvine’s global profile is something I take great pride in. As a truly multicultural city, Irvine is a melting pot of cultures and traditions. This diversity is reflected not only in our community but also in our vibrant food scene, with restaurants offering flavors from around the world. Hubs like the Irvine Spectrum and Diamond Jamboree bring this cultural richness to life, offering an exciting mix of dining, shopping, and entertainment that celebrates our city’s global connections.

Irvine’s commitment to community is also evident in its amazing community service programs and a full schedule of free community events throughout the city. These programs and events bring residents together, fostering a strong sense of belonging and engagement.

Education is at the heart of Irvine, with top-tier schools and the University of California, Irvine (UCI) driving academic excellence and innovation. UCI plays a key role in our city’s intellectual and cultural vitality, reinforcing Irvine’s leadership in education. Irvine’s commitment to preserving open spaces and promoting outdoor living is evident in our extensive biking paths, hiking trails, and parks, including the iconic Great Park balloon. This dedication to green spaces enhances our quality of life and reflects our focus on environmental sustainability.

In Irvine, we’ve created a harmonious balance between urban sophistication and natural beauty making Irvine a welcoming and comfortable place to call home.

Over the next decade, my city will face several significant challenges that demand thoughtful planning and strong leadership. One of the most pressing is managing rapid growth while maintaining the quality of life that residents expect. As we plan for a city that could reach 450,000 residents, the increasing demand for housing will place even more pressure on the market. With a growing number of renters, it’s crucial to develop more affordable housing options and policies that protect tenants, ensuring safe and accessible rental housing.

Another major challenge will be upgrading and expanding infrastructure to keep pace with growth, including transportation networks, utilities, and digital infrastructure. The city must balance expansion with sustainability, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring new developments are resilient to future challenges like climate change.

Environmental sustainability is critical as climate change continues to pose global risks. The city must advance its climate action goals, reduce carbon emissions, and promote renewable energy, with a focus on water conservation, waste reduction, and protecting natural spaces.

Economic resilience is also key. The city must remain a hub for job creation and innovation while diversifying the local economy to withstand downturns. Supporting local businesses, attracting new industries, and preparing the workforce for future job markets will be vital to sustaining our community’s prosperity.

I believe the biggest challenge for the city over the next decade will be the General plan of 2045, as the RHNA state housing has mandated 23,000 housing units but now it has been upped to 57,000 that will be created in densely populated areas like spectrum. This will create issues of overcrowding, crime, and additional traffic. As Mayor, I will work with city staff to minimize its impact.

How a state and local government interact can impact everything from how finances are handled to how public utility decisions are made. Ideally the relationship should be State government supports the needs of the city within their budgetary limits.

Both levels of government serve the same constituents, so their relationship should be deeply rooted in a shared commitment to improving the lives of residents. For me, this isn’t just about politics—it’s about ensuring that the people I serve have access to the best possible resources and support. While the state provides broad legislative frameworks and resources, cities should have the autonomy to implement policies and initiatives tailored to their unique circumstances. This local flexibility is essential for addressing the specific needs of our community, which is something I’m passionate about.

The state, in turn, should support cities by providing necessary funding, technical assistance, and policy guidance, all while respecting local governance. I believe strongly in collaboration, especially when it comes to policy development and implementation. When state policies are crafted, it’s crucial for cities to be involved in the process to ensure that the regulations are not only practical but also beneficial at the local level. Having been directly involved in local governance, I know firsthand how important it is to have policies that truly reflect the needs of our community.

In times of crisis or when tackling complex challenges like housing affordability, climate change, or public health, the relationship between the city and state becomes even more critical. A cooperative approach allows us to pool resources, expertise, and authority, ensuring we can respond effectively. I’ve seen how a strong partnership between city and state can make a real difference in people’s lives.

Ultimately, when cities thrive, the state benefits, and when the state is supportive and responsive, cities can better serve their residents. This symbiotic relationship is key to building a brighter future for everyone, and it’s something I’m deeply committed to fostering.

I believe that the city and state government should establish a good relationship for when extreme emergencies like the pandemic occur. It is also essential that the mayor and the city establish good relations with the state as it supplies essential funding and grants for the operation and expansion of the city. However, I also believe that it is crucial that the state government does not over-step their reserved powers and understand that some decisions are best left to decisions of city governance, as they are the ones that best understand the needs of the city.

the United States Constitution is silent about the relationship between local government and the federal government. The creation of cities is considered one of the unlisted reserved powers granted to the states. Local governments are created with the purpose of implementing state law.

The ideal relationship between a city and the federal government should be rooted in partnership, cooperation, and mutual support, all aimed at advancing the well-being of residents and addressing both local and national challenges. The federal government should provide cities with essential resources, funding, and technical assistance to tackle critical issues like infrastructure, public safety, housing, and environmental sustainability. Having seen the impact of these issues firsthand, I know how vital federal support can be in making meaningful progress.

In turn, cities should align their local initiatives with federal priorities where appropriate, but it's crucial that we maintain the flexibility to tailor these programs to our unique circumstances. This respect for local autonomy is something I’m passionate about, as it ensures that our city’s governance remains responsive and effective in meeting the specific needs of our residents.

In times of crisis—whether due to natural disasters, economic downturns, or public health emergencies—the relationship between the city and federal government becomes even more critical. The federal government should provide immediate support, while cities, drawing on their deep understanding of local conditions, should be prepared to implement federal assistance effectively. I’ve always believed that the insights we provide from the ground level can greatly enhance the effectiveness of federal actions.

I see tremendous value in the federal government catalyzing innovation by funding pilot programs and research that cities can adapt. Irvine can serve as a testing ground for new ideas that, if successful, could be scaled up nationally. This collaborative approach not only benefits our local community but also contributes to the broader progress of the nation, a goal that I am deeply committed to advancing.

I believe the ideal relationship between Irvine and the federal government is similar to the relationship between the city and the state government. City officials should facilitate a relationship with the federal government, for essential things like funding. However, I also believe that local city governance exists to serve the interest of the people and establish a relationship between the federal government and its constituents allowing their voice to be heard in legislative decisions.

As mayor, I see it as my responsibility to play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of law enforcement, ensuring that policing practices reflect the community’s values and expectations. This is deeply personal to me because I believe that the safety and trust of our residents are foundational to a thriving community. It’s essential for the mayor’s office to provide robust support to law enforcement, fully acknowledging the demanding and often hazardous nature of their work. As mayor, I’m committed to advocating for fair wages, comprehensive training, and mental health resources, ensuring that our officers have everything they need to perform their duties effectively and safely.

At the same time, I believe it’s crucial to align law enforcement with the broader goals of social justice and I am passionate about championing policies that enhance public trust, with a strong emphasis on transparency and accountability in policing. These principles are not just abstract ideals to me—they are the bedrock of building a law enforcement system that the entire community can rely on and respect.

As mayor, I will continue to foster the strong relationships between law enforcement and our community shares to ensure everyone feels safe, valued, and heard. This partnership is something I am committed to nurturing every day as mayor, knowing that it’s essential to the overall well-being of our city.

I believe the ideal relationship between the mayor’s office and law enforcement would be to establish and facilitate a tight relationship between the two. I believe that as Mayor it would be my responsibility to aid law enforcement agencies by supplying proper funding and making sure that they have enough resources. I intend to lighten the load for the men and women giving their lives to protect the safety of our community by also addressing the issue of the understaffed police force.

Financial transparency and government accountability are essential pillars of a healthy democracy and are crucial for maintaining public trust. As a leader, I am committed to ensuring that the budgeting process is open and accessible to the public. This includes clear communication about how funds are allocated and spent, regular reporting on financial outcomes, and making financial documents readily available to our residents. When the public understands how their money is used, it fosters confidence in the government’s integrity and effectiveness.

Elected leaders are entrusted with taxpayer dollars, and it is their duty to allocate these resources efficiently and effectively, always prioritizing the community's needs. For me, stewardship is a matter of honor—every dollar represents the hard work of our citizens and must be treated with the utmost respect. Creating a balanced budget that aligns with community priorities is fundamental. This involves not only managing current expenditures but also planning for the future, ensuring that the city or district can weather economic fluctuations and invest in long-term projects that will benefit residents for years to come. Budgeting, to me, is a strategic exercise requiring both vision and discipline, meeting immediate needs while preparing for future challenges.

I also believe that financial decisions should involve the community. Public input is invaluable in the budgeting process, ensuring that spending aligns with the community’s priorities. Engaging residents through public hearings, surveys, and other means gives them a direct say in how their tax dollars are used. This inclusive approach not only leads to better financial decisions but also strengthens the democratic process by making government more responsive and accountable.

Ron Scolesdang (Nonpartisan)

I believe that financial transparency and government accountability is essential to establish friendly and trusting relations with its constituents. This is part of the reason why I decided to run for office, i believe that the city council was created for members of the local community to decide what is best for the city, not career politicians that decide what is best for them. As Mayor, I will fully immerse myself in the idea of public service and do what is best for constituents, addressing every issue that may arise big or small.

Submitted Biography "I belong to a multicultural family. I am deeply rooted in the Irvine community because I moved here in 1969. My wife and I are graced by God with two children who are currently enrolled in the first Charter school in Irvine, where I serve as a Board Member. I also serve as a Board Member for the Woodbridge Village Master Homeowners Association. My parents immigrated to the United State from Mexico and became US citizens. They taught me many lessons all based on conservative values. I attribute my moral compass to their belief in God, their value of hard work, love for family and friends, and respect for all people. I believe all my success honors them. These are the same lessons I currently teach my own children. Professionally, I’ve developed project management, implementation, and communication skills from a 45-year career working for Fluor Corporation. In both my public service and professional roles, I have a proven track record of solving problems and project execution with care and dedication. I went to Catholic school from kindergarten to High School (Mater Dei). I speak English and Spanish, and my interests include skiing, basketball, Muay Thai, building model rockets, welding, residential and automotive repair."

Submitted Biography "decade. Long before my candidacy, I had found my interest and passion in community service. Which is why, during the pandemic, I co-founded a local non-profit called Seniors Fight Back in response to increasing rates of senior abuse. In just two years we have helped close to ten thousand seniors and have had over 300 volunteers join our movement, and in 2022 we were honored to receive the California Nonprofit of the Year award. Aside from community service and entrepreneurship, I am also a professional kickboxer, which has instilled in me the importance of discipline and dedication. Only after two decades of training was I able to win my Muay Thai World Champion title. My success in my fighting career and in entrepreneurship taught me that I am able to excel at whatever I put my mind to. Furthermore, I believe my passion to serve the community comes from a place of attachment. Irvine to me is home, as it has given way to everything I now prioritize most, which is being a proud husband and father to my wife and five-year-old son. Not only am I running for office to repay the city through public service, I am also running to better the community for my son, as it is my job as a father to provide the best possible environment for my kid to grow up in. I am not running for the prestige of the office, but the resources it would have for me to better our home on a larger scale."

rvine has had a prevalent issue of road safety with the increasing presence of electric bikes in this city, mostly from adolescent riders.
