Megan is an East Providence resident studying to be a doctor. She hopes to be an OB-GYN. Through her training, she has seen how private health insurance companies and pharmaceutical industries profit off of her patients’ and neighbors’ ill health. She is here to advocate for universal healthcare for Rhode Island. She knows the housing crisis is at a peak and pledges to make solutions to it a priority. She will act every day to put the people of the community first, not corporate or financial interests, to help each person live the healthy, safe, and dignified life they deserve. In her spare time, she likes to cook for friends and family and garden.
  • I am not taking any money from lobbyists so that I can be solely accountable to the voters. I will always act in the interest of the people and advocate for the policies in my platform.
  • I will prioritize improving our healthcare system, including seeking universal coverage for vision, dental, hearing, and mental healthcare.
  • I will put the community first by addressing the housing crisis, seeking universal pre-k, fully funding our public schools, and preserving our green spaces.
I am very passionate about the needs of the community mentioned above. In addition, I have done advocacy work for climate justice initiatives in healthcare and know we need policy makers who will fight for a safe and sustainable planet. I am very passionate about that. I am also very passionate about reproductive justice. I hope to practice obstetrics and gynecology which means delivering babies, taking care of women, and providing abortions. I will be a strong advocate for choice and expanding access to abortion to Medicaid recipients in Rhode Island through the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act (EACA).
