I am a mom, a professional, and a life-long supporter of public education. I have three children in Jeffco schools ranging in age from pre-school, to elementary school, and high school. My own career in engineering and public policy in addition to my board service with large non-profit organizations has uniquely prepared me for this role. I co-parent with an educator, my oldest is my stepson and his mom and I have the good fortune of becoming close friends. She is a kindergarten teacher in the district, and over the years has opened my eyes to what our educators are experiencing in the classroom. Additionally, I have spent time volunteering in the classroom and serving a combined 6 years as PTA President at two different elementary schools. I am guided by three priorities: 1) Ensuring we have strong, thriving, public schools, 2) Making safety part of student experience, and 3) Building trust through budget transparency. I am running for the Jeffco School Board because I believe that every Jeffco student should have access to a great education that ignites their curiosity, responds to their learning style, and prepares them for whatever path they pursue.
  • We must ensure strong, thriving public schools through a focus on student achievement and growth, replicating what works, and understanding the needs of our students, educators, and staff..
  • We can settle for nothing less than safe, secure schools, because we know learning happens best when everyone feels safe and a sense of belonging.
  • We can build trust through budget transparency, and use engagement, feedback, and data to make the informed decisions that drive us forward.
I am passionate about public education, which encompasses many different areas of public policy. Personally I am curious about support for early learning, attracting and retaining high-quality educators and staff, and ensuring all schools have the tools, supports, programming, and funding needed to successfully educate its population. To me this includes working with state and local officials as well as fostering engagement and community.
