Concord, New Hampshire: This past week, Merrimack Superior Court Judge Larry M. Smukler overturned a Franklin city ordinance which barred sex offender's from living within 2500 feet of a school. The suit was originally filed by William Thomas after he was notified that he had to move from his apartment upon moving to the town in 2010. The judge felt that the city had failed to demonstrate how the measure actually worked to protect children. Franklin City Manager Elizabeth Dragon has announced that the town is considering revising and readopting the statute.[1]
