The New York Department of Motor Vehicles, Amendment 1, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 1, was on the ballot in New York on November 3, 1959, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure established in the state government a Department of Motor Vehicles.[1]
