Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs Committee, Hawaii House of Representatives (decommissioned)
The Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs Committee was a standing committee of the Hawaii House of Representatives. It resulted from a reorganization of the Water, Land & Ocean Resources Committee and the Hawaiian Affairs Committee.
Function
The 2013 Hawaii House rules described the function of this committee as outlined below.
“ | Those programs relating to ocean activities, outdoor marine matters, including marine recreational boating, ocean fish and game management, corals and inorganic marine resources, ocean mining, mariculture, commercial and recreational ocean fish and fishing, including fishery development and management, submerged lands, and the Coastal Zone Management Act. The committee shall also consider those programs relating to persons of Hawaiian ancestry, including programs administered by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.[1][2] | ” |
