I am running for the Place 3 position on the Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees in the May 2022 election. I would succeed Angie Cox of Flower Mound, who has announced that she will not seek a fourth term. Building upon my paralegal career, I would bring a strong understanding of policy and procedure for the benefit of the students. I obtained my paralegal certificate from the University of North Texas’s professional development institute. Additionally, my service on multiple Parent Teacher Associations will benefit the students. This service includes terms as president of the Griffin Middle School PTA and the Colony High School PTA. I also am a member of North Texas’ 100 Women Who Care as well as other organizations.

Parents, teachers, and taxpayers.
Work together with the six other outstanding professionals on the Schoo Board, with whom I have excellent relationships. I will hit the ground running to work alongside this team so that together we move out of the Covid environment back to normalcy. It’s important to strengthen all students’ preparedness to enter the working world and not lose time in getting back to business.
I will build relationships with all constituents.
The Board does an excellent job on HR matters, which I will continue.
Covid shut downs have caused students to fall behind to an extent. We need to roll up sleeves and commit to keep the schools open, with a tactical initiative to blend annual curriculum plans so that there is an effective transition between years to fill in content that was lost from Covid shutdowns.
Among other things, our students need to be trained to enter the world proficient in modern technology.
As a mother of Lewisville Independent School District graduates, I want focus on strong academic programs, strong vocational programs, and active participation in student learning. Whether a student is college bound or would thrive in a vocational career, our school district must strive to create the foundations of success in every child we educate.
Lewisville ISD is financially strong. LISD's Chief Financial Officer Mark Youngs and his professional school district finance staff effectively manage a $500+ million annual budget achieving A+ independent audit ratings. The district's professional finance staff does not need to be changed or supplemented.
Active and effective coordination with local law enforcement professionals.
