The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Phil Swanhorst ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Terry Moulton ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Moulton defeated Swanhorst in the general election.[2][1][3]
