Primary: He was defeated in the Republican primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 44.5 percent of the vote. He competed against Derek Carlisle.

Krueger earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and his J.D. from Washburn University.[3]

Krueger has practiced civil and criminal law since 1988.[3]
