Campaign themes

2012

Dooley's campaign website listed the following issues:[1]

  • Education
Excerpt: "Under Democratic Party rule Arkansas has consistently ranked at or near the bottom in education. We need a new direction centered around empowering parents and children in failing schools. Parents should have the ability to "opt out" of failing schools and enroll their children in institutions that support, challenge, and educate."
  • Innovation
Excerpt: "The public sector in Arkansas lacks productivity, is bloated, and are poor stewards of the people's money. I propose to reduce the size of Arkansas government by a third. Some of those saving should be returned to Arkansans, afterall, it is your money, but at the same time, a portion of these savings should be used to increase the efficiency of state government, by incentivizing the public sector workforce."
  • Investment
Excerpt: "The business climate in Arkansas is among the worst in the nation. Widespread unemployment, poverty, and lack of opportunity are a threat to our way of life. We can change that."
