Public Retirement and Social Security Programs Committee, Arkansas State Senate
The Public Retirement and Social Security Programs Committee is a standing committee of the Arkansas State Senate.
Per the Senate Rules, committees of the Arkansas State Senate are assigned by seniority. Starting with the most senior member, every senator chooses a committee. Once the most junior senator has chosen, everyone selects again in the same order. The President of the Senate then appoints additional senators to any committees with less than eight members.[1] If a senator is elected to fill a mid-term vacancy by special election, the incoming senator assumes any committee responsibilities of the previous senator, but cannot serve as a Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson.[2] Committees are assigned at the start of each legislative session.[3] It is not stated what constitutes a committee's quorum. The President is not recognized as an ex officio member of any committee.
