Robert A. Blaeser
Robert A. Blaeser was a Minnesota Fourth Judicial District judge for Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position in 1995 and was elected in 1996, 2002 and 2008. He served in the Civil, Criminal, and Juvenile divisions of this court. He retired October 15, 2012.[1][2]
As an Anishinaabe from the White Earth Reservation, Robert Blaeser was the first Native American Indian judge appointed in the Minnesota metro area. He is well-known as an expert on racial bias and the Indian Child Welfare Act.[1]
Education
Blaeser received his B.A. degree from Concordia College in 1976 and his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1979.[1]
Career
Prior to becoming a District Judge, Blaeser worked as a private practice lawyer from 1979 to 1995.[1]
