February 16, 2023: 100 years ago today, on February 16, 1923, King Tutankhamen’s tomb in Thebes, Egypt, was opened by archaeologist Howard Carter. The tomb had been discovered in November 1922, and the contents, including the mummified body of King Tutankhamen, were well preserved after more than 3000 years. They are now housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.[1]
