May 18, 2017: Smartphone users now open an average of nine smartphone apps each day. Perhaps even more stunning is the fact that U.S. smartphone users spend an average of two hours and 15 minutes engaged in apps on a daily basis.[1]

On a monthly basis, smartphone users launch about 30 different apps on average.
Interestingly, according to research conducted by App Annie across nine countries, 80 percent of users' app time was spent outside of their country's top app. So while popular apps like Facebook and WhatsApp still lead the market, users aren't dedicating their whole two hours and 15 minutes to them.[1][2]
In my new book, Politics Has Failed: America Will Not, I show how the tools of the digital revolution reinforce and strengthen America’s cultural commitment to freedom, equality, and self-governance.
