November 3, 2025: Sixty-one (61) years ago on November 3, 1964, Washington D.C. residents got to cast their votes for the presidential election for the first time since 1800. Citizens living in the D.C area got the right to vote through the passage of the 23rd Amendment. After Washington D.C. was finished being built, it was put under the authority of Congress, who decided to get rid of the voting rights of the residents in D.C.[1]
