Shannon Broderick Bulman

Shannon Broderick Bulman is a judge of the New Mexico 1st Judicial District Court. She assumed office in 2020. Her current term ends in 2026.
She was appointed to the court on January 10, 2020 by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to replace Raymond Z. Ortiz.
Bulman previously served as a judge of the Santa Fe County Probate Court in New Mexico. She was elected in November 2014, effective January 1, 2015. Bulman resigned from the Probate Court in 2017 to become a family court hearing officer.[1]
Education
Bulman earned her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Connecticut in 1985 and her J.D. from the University of New Mexico in 1989.[2]
Career
Prior to her election to the Probate Court bench, Bulman was an attorney in private practice. Before that, she worked as assistant general counsel for the state Human Services Department and the Department of Public Safety.[2]

Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on June 3, 2014, receiving 42.9 percent of the vote. She competed against Frank A. Fischer and Katherine Ann Basham.
General: She was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014.
