Stephen H. Kim
Stephen H. Kim is the General Counsel for Coils, Inc., an international electronic components manufacturer, and a former Special Assistant to then Governor Jim Edgar. On September 10, 2009, he announced his candidacy for the statewide office of attorney general, challenging Democratic incumbent Lisa Madigan for the position.[1] Over a full year later, however, Kim went on to lose in the general election on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010 after receiving slightly under thirty-two percent of the vote.
Political career
Kim served as a special assistant to former Governor Jim Edgard, advising him on matters of international trade and Asian Affairs. He also worked at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs as an International Trade Specialist, where he directed the state's export promotion and trade activities for Asia, as well as for the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce as a director of export and international trade directing the chamber's international trade department.
