I am married to my husband, Patrick, and I am a mother to 4 children; 3 of which are adults. I am an educator, and I have taught in the public school system, at a private school, and as a mother, homeschooling my children, and I have worked in each of these sectors for multiple years.

I came to Abilene from Grand Prairie, Texas, 32 years ago to go to Hardin-Simmons University, and with the exception of serving in Israel for a while with a non-profit, Abilene has been my home since 1993. I met and married my husband in Abilene, and I’ve raised my 4 children here, so my roots are deep in Abilene and it is where I think I will spend the rest of my life.

I have always been interested in serving people, and over the last 4 years, I have been hearing more concerns from citizens about the local government. So I started educating myself about local city government so that I could have an impact and use my voice to speak for others. I began to encourage and work to empower others to become involved themselves. I even started producing a podcast about local government in the Big Country, and after 3 years, without ANY real aspirations to run for office, I began to hear from others and see that I would be able to have more impact if I ran for office. My desire is to serve my community on city council, and to work to be a voice for average citizens, as well as continue to educate, inform, and empower average citizens to have an impact on Abilene and the Big Country.
  • I want to improve Abilene's streets & infrastructure
  • I want to prioritize public safety to a higher level.
  • I want to reestablish responsible spending of the taxpayer's money in Abilene, Texas. We need to take a close look at the priorities we use on making fiscal decisions, relying less on taking out debt through bonds and certificates of obligation (which always come with increased tax rates and interest), and focusing more on planning for the future using cash on hand instead of debt that will burden future generations.
Responsible Spending, Public Safety, Streets & Infrastructure, and Protecting Children, and also, Transparency, Transparency, and Transparency!
I am willing to speak up and represent those who are afraid to speak and I will try to do what is right even if it means standing alone.
To represent the values & concerns of constituents, to keep our city safe, and to spend taxpayer money responsibly.
