I am a 26 year tax-paying homeowner of Bedford Township. I am a long-time Paramedic, and oversee EMS education in the state of Michigan. I also have a Bachelor degree in Healthcare Admin and a Master's degree in education. Education is very important to me and I plan to offer several educational opportunities for our community. My slogan is Moving Bedford Forward. Together we can have a community that thrives, neighbors that help each other, and community service that has a great impact. My experience helps me to have a vision of where we want to be in 5, 10, and even 20 years down the road. Service and safety are important aspects to a thriving community. Together, we can do this.
  • Educational opportunities that will help community members become confident in helping one another. Do you know what to do and how to respond when calling 911? Community CPR classes, fire safety situations, is human trafficking happening in our township? Infant safe sleep education, and so on. These classes will help our township resident become aware, helpful in an emergency, and up to date on research with some common medical conditions. We will also identify what your taxes pay for and how you can help us achieve greatness.
  • Community service helps our township look like a place we would all want to live. Group (team) work to help beautify our streets and village are just a small example of plans we will implement.
  • Fiscal responsibility is the most important job of a leader in our township. Frugal spending on items needed is very important and will help our township thrive for years to come.
The safety of our township residents is a passion of mine. Everyone should feel safe in their home and community and together we can improve our safety measures and educate others on how to become a safer in our homes and when we are out.
My Mother was the kindest person. I always wished that I could be as kind and patient as she always was to everyone-no matter the circumstances. I try to make her proud everyday.
Honesty and integrity are the principles that are most important to me. Accountability for the items that may be considered or passed into ordinance/s would always depend on what is best for our residents.
I currently chair a nation EMS committee and understand the Roberts Rules of Order. I am a constitutional Republican and have a copy of the constitution at my home. I also believe in honesty and integrity and that will show during my time as the next Township Supervisor. I am also a visionary and can see where we want to be down the road. A gap analysis will help us to achieve our goals.
Integrity-doing the right thing even when no one is looking. Honesty-always. Accountability-for all actions while in public office. Open to listening-not just to let someone talk but to listen to their concerns.
Honesty, dependable, straight-forward Supervisor that helped move our Township forward.
There are 2 that stand out-when Ronald Reagan was shot and The Challenger blew up. I could not have missed a single newscast about either of these tragedy's.
I worked as a nurses aid in a nursing home from age 16-20. I loved taking care of our elderly patients and getting to know their histories. I left there when I went to college to become an EMT and then Paramedic.
Make it Stick the Science of Successful Learning, by Brown, Roedinger III, and McDaniel. Education is important to me and as an educator, you want the message to "stick". Such a good book for educators and I often reference it.
Superman (Superwoman) because he always helped people who needed it.
Don't Stop Believing by Journey. My favorite song. One of my colleagues is on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Board of Directors and I recently was able to catch up with her and we talked music all evening. She knows all of the artists and is friends with many.
Within the past 3 1/2 years, I lost my Mother to cancer while during the same period helped care for my husband who also had cancer. He is thankfully okay now, but that time-period will always be my biggest struggle in life.
I cannot think of one right now.
It is important to understand where taxpayer money is being spent.
