Thomas Evans (Michigan)

Thomas R. Evans was the chief judge of the 55th Circuit Court in Michigan (counties of Clare and Gladwin). He was appointed to this court by former Governor Jennifer Granholm on September 21, 2005, to replace retired Judge Kurt N. Hansen.[1] He was re-elected in 2006, 2008 and 2014. His current six-year term ends in 2020.[2][3][4] Evans passed away on May 2, 2022.[5]
Education
Evans received his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the Wayne State University Law School.[1]
Career
Evans worked for over 10 years as a prosecutor for Gladwin County prior to his appointment to the circuit court in 2005. He has also served as a legal instructor for the Kirtland Regional Police Academy and Kirtland Community College.[1]
