Timothy Sweeney appointed to West Virginia's 3rd Judicial Circuit

Charleston, West Virginia: Acting Gov. Tomblin appointed attorney Timothy Sweeney to fill a vacancy on West Virginia's Third Judicial Circuit Court on December 8, 2010. Sweeney will replace the late Robert L. Holland, Jr., effective immediately. Tomblin praised the nominee, saying, "Tim has dedicated many years of public service to Pleasants County...he possesses the broad experience and knowledge necessary to keep this circuit and the surrounding region productive for many years to come."

Sweeney has been a lawyer for nearly 30 years. Since 1985, he has worked as a prosecuting attorney for Pleasants County. Prior to that, he practiced with various law firms and spent nine years as the general counsel of the Pleasants County Bank. He has also worked in the business sector with Pleasants Memorial Estatesand St. Marys Motel Inc.[1]
