My Name is Toni A. Wilson. I am a proud Pike Township educator and a child and family advocate. I am married with 2 adult children. My youngest daughter is a graduate of Pike High School. We have been a resident of Pike for over 23 years. I am a graduate of Indiana University. I currently an Exceptional Learner Teacher and have coached girls’ basketball at New Augusta North and the 9th grade Pike girls Basketball team. I am a Pike Township Precinct Committeeman. I have always had a deep passion for educating children. I want my passion to be contagious and inspiring so others will want to advocate for our children.

  • We need to show our teachers and the supporting staff by our actions, by giving them top competitive pay. We should show support by how we speak about their worth, that they are truly valued. Their concerns need to be heard and taken seriously.
  • We need to continue to commit to increasing our students test scores so that our graduation rates will continue to increase as a result of our commitment. Focusing on the STEM, such as the quality of curriculum materials, specialist or tutoring supports and class size.
I am passionate about Education funding policies because they are vital to ensuring that all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background, have access to a good school and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Also I am supporting teacher development and their well-being.
Elected officials must work as part of a team to establish a shared vision for the future, develop goals and plans that make that future possible. They must possess traits of honesty, morality, compassion, competence, and leadership skills.
I possess strong communication skills, I'm a team player, self-motivated, committed to integrity. I have the ability to make informed decisions, a proven track record of problem-solving, and a dedication to actively listening to the needs of my constituents.
This allows me to effectively represent their interests and then can work together towards positive changes.
School board is there to set educational policies for the district, oversee the budget, advocate for our students to receive the quality of education they need to be successful. They ensure that the school’s mission and values are being uphold.
The legacy I would like to leave is, I made a positive impact on someone's life. That I was seen as a motivator, hard worker and I had integrity
My very 1st job was working for Wendy's when I was a senior in high school. I kept the job until I went off to college in June of the following year.

ensuring the district is effectively meeting the educational needs of all students within their community. They also represent the community's interests and advocate for the students to be successful and to graduate.
The residents of Pike Township
I would use inclusive practices while making sure I am understanding and respecting the different cultural backgrounds, learning styles, socioeconomic situations, and abilities while ensuring everyone ( students, faculty) feels valued and supported within the school community.
Good teaching has a positive impact on the students. The student are engaged in classroom discussions. The teacher uses their expertise to improve learning and good outcomes. The outcomes are can be measured easily, usually through summative assessment.
I would advocate for increased state and federal funding, promoting transparency in budget allocation. I would advocate for a fund based system that allocate funds based on student demographics like poverty levels, special needs.
We need to creating a secure learning environment by implement clear safety rules and procedures. We to put in place physical security measures, regularly assess risks, and actively communicate safety information to students, staff, and parents at all times,
We should combine mental health awareness and coping mechanisms into the curriculum for our students at all levels
I would advocate for policies that continue to promote equitable access to technology, enhance parent engagement, and prioritize early childhood education initiatives
I think that the school district handled the coronavirus pandemic, based on the resources and information they received, was adequate.
It is so crucial for governments to be open and transparent about their finances, it builds public trust and confidence in their ability to manage funds effectively.
