Bier included this statement on his campaign Facebook page:[3]

Friends, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Wisconsin Rapids School Board. I am running because I believe that a strong public school district is essential to not only the students, but also to the community as a whole.

To me, the most important aspect is to ensure that our children have the tools that they need to be successful. When these tools are present- I believe that this allows for greater success not only in the classroom, but in all aspects of life.
If elected, I would strive to promote further accountability and greater transparency on the board. Our Central Wisconsin area deserves a Board of Education that looks out for the best interests of the students, and that works in a way that always welcomes transparency and honesty.
The ultimate goal is to deliver a standard of education that allows for the students and the community to succeed.
I look forward to meeting with the community to discuss education policy, and to have meaningful conversations about how to strengthen our schools in our area.
I truly believe that when we work together we can accomplish more. Going forward in this campaign, I hope that I can earn your support because I will ALWAYS put students first.
