William Kennedy Boone, III was a judge for the Fourth Circuit Court in Washington County, Maryland..[1] He was appointed to the court by former Governor Parris N. Glendening and assumed the bench on May 19, 1997.[2] Boone announced on April 19, 2011 that he was taking an indefinite leave of absence from the court due to personal problems.[3] He retired from the court on March 6, 2012.[4]

Education

Boone received his undergraduate degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1964 and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1967.[4]

Career

Drunk driving

Judge Boone pleaded guilty to a charge of drunk driving in a collision that caused damage to another car and driver. On March 17, 2010, he was fined $1,000 and sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation. Boone apologized and said that he accepts full responsibility for the incident.[2]
