Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Slattery's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Rebuild Infrastructure: We can and we must invest resources and workers in strengthening the backbone of our country by upgrading infrastructure across the board.
  • Expand Opportunity: Embolden and strengthen the middle class by leveling the playing field for small and mid-size businesses and corporations.
  • Effective Government: Dysfunction in government is at an all-time high. We need leaders who will step down off their soap boxes and do the hard work of getting things done.
  • Strengthen Our Society: We will fight attempts to weaken or privatize Social Security and Medicare. Instead, we must strengthen their funds to assure their long-term viability.
  • Fair Trade: Trade policy must consider not only large corporations, but also small businesses and workers. We want fair trade, not free trade!
