W. Russell Freeman
W. Russell Freeman (also known as Russell Freeman) was a member of the Horry County Schools school board in South Carolina, representing District 1. He assumed office on November 19, 2019. He left office on January 9, 2023.
Freeman (Republican Party) ran in a special election to the Horry County Schools school board to represent District 1 in South Carolina. He won in the special general election on November 3, 2020.
Freeman was appointed to the Horry County Schools Board by members of the board on November 11, 2019, after the seat was left vacant when Holly Heniford resigned in September of the same year. He was sworn in on November 19, 2019.[1]
Biography
Reverend W. Russell Freeman's professional experience includes serving as the senior pastor of the Little River United Methodist Church. When he joined the school board, he had three children in the Horry County Schools district. Rev. Freeman obtained a B.A. in major religions and government from Wofford College and an M.Div. from Emory University.[2][3]
