A Waterford Township Parks and Recreation Levy Increase proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Oakland County, which is in Michigan, where it was defeated.
If approved, this proposal would have authorized an up to .5 mills ($50 cents per $1,000 assessed taxable valuation) for 20 years to fund the Township Parks and Recreation Department. The estimated revenure from the first year of this tax is $965,182.69.[1]

| “ | Shall the Charter Township of Waterford be authorized to increase the levy of taxes by up to .5 mills ($0.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of 20 years beginning in December 2012? The proposed millage is for the operating costs of the Township Parks and Recreation Department programs, activities and facilities.
